Emerald Beach (March 2008): Last year the crew from 'Getaway' filmed a segment on Emerald Beach featuring the area's local attractions which included us!
For those of you who aren't familiar with the show, 'Getaway' is Australia's longest running and most popular holiday and travel program. More than 2 million people tune into the program each week.

From 'Getaway' Website: Coffs Harbour is a popular holiday spot offering a semi-tropical climate and accessibility to both Sydney and Brisbane. It is a well-known surfing spot and hosts many regional competitions. Emerald Beach is just 20 minutes north of Coffs. The coastal village has a population of around 1700 and is surrounded by the Moonee Beach Nature Reserve. Its coastal waters are part of the Solitary Islands Marine Park.
Look-At-Me-Now Headland, which is part of the Moonee Beach Nature Reserve, is adjacent to the Solitary Islands Marine Park and lies in the traditional territory of the Gumbaynggirr people. At dawn and dusk, great numbers of eastern grey kangaroos and swamp wallabies visit the Look-At-Me-Now Headland.
Emerald Beach is great for surfing and safe swimming and there is a caravan and camping park adjacent to the beach. If camping isn't your thing, Saltwater on the Beach is a two-year-old, three-bedroom apartment suitable for six people. It is right on the waterfront with views of the beach and Groper Island. The locally designed and created building has space, style and sophistication. No cost was spared to give holiday makers a comfortable and memorable visit.
Saltwater Cafe/Restaurant serves breakfast on the terrace — possibly enjoyed while watching whales passing by. Lunches are leisurely and dinners are relaxed. You can call in to enjoy a coffee and enjoy the marvellous views. Of course, local fresh produce and seafood are chosen and there are always plenty of daily specials. The cuisine is modern Australia with some dishes giving subtle Asian or Middle Eastern flavours. Desserts are a speciality.
A visit to the contemporary Greenstone Gallery features works of 35 Australian artists — 60 percent of them are locals. Abstract paintings, photography, mosaics, handcrafted jewellery and sculptures are available for that tempting holiday purchase.
